Press PLAY on the kit's remote control to start reading the MP3s and benefit from the digital amplifier which transforms your car into a true concert hall!

| Customer Reviews: Does what it says on the box - excellent September 4, 2008 O. G. Hunter (Towcester, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Like Mr Jones, I also bought this device so I could stream MP3s in stereo through my Volvo S80's hi-fi. He appears to have a specialist system and it would seem that a fully-integrated setup was either not possible (as mentioned in the manual) or that the installers took the lazy way out by wiring to the front speakers only. I did have to purchase the Volvo/ISO adapter kit (AC0000020AA) seperately (from eBay - £18 inc postage) to allow easy connection to the stereo but the calls and the streamed MP3s both come out of ALL the cars speakers including the additional subwoofer that I have installed and the sound quality is excellent.
Once I'd removed my existing Nokia in-car kit the installation was time consuming (I've done a few before and it took me about 3 hours) but not too difficult. I had to swap the permanent/switched live wires over as mentioned in the manual (easily done at the in-line fuses) but otherwise the system worked perfectly as soon as I switched it on. I've not experienced any of the operational issues described by "helpless". The hardest parts were deciding where to mount the removable display unit and fitting all the wires and adapter cables back in the small space behind the stereo at the end of the installation. I went for locating the display on top of the dashboard at the bottom of the RH roof strut and the remote control on RH side of the steering wheel. Unlike Mr Baldock I have found the sticky mounting pads to be perfectly acceptable and have used them to attach the bundled external double-microphone to the top of my rear-view mirror and the wired connector for the removeable display to my dashboard (I did wipe the area with white spirit and allow to dry before affixing). I connect and remove the display twice-daily when driving to/from work and they've lasted a month so far with no sign of weakening.
The unit is easy to use in operation with short-cuts on the remote control to switch between day/night illumination modes as well as to access voice dialling and redial the last number. The text-to-speech function reads out names in a female voice with slight Indian accent - OK for my Indian contacts but slightly amusing for contacts with western names.
Unfortunately my new mobile phone (LG Viewty purple [KU990]) does not support whole phonebook push via Bluetooth so the contacts are not automatically picked up by the kit and must be sent one-by-one. My wife's phone (Samsung U600 Purple) only sends the default number of each contact to the parrot, whereas my old Nokia 6230i automatically sends the entire phone book. Pressing 'play' on the remote control takes you straight to the playlist page on the phone and pressing 'play' again starts playback of the first playlist. The volume range during music playback is very good and goes up to louder than I could comfortably listen to music at.
The only drawback that I have encountered with the unit so far is that the volume level during calls is rather low. Even with the volume turned to maximum on the remote control it can be difficult to hear clearly at motorway speeds, even though the S80 has very good sound deadening against outside & road noise. Asking callers to speak directly into their phone's mouthpiece helps a little but I would have liked it to be louder.
In summary this is an easy-to-use great-looking and feature-rich posey little unit that I would have no trouble in recomending. If you don't need/want to use the A2DP music streaming function then you might want to go for the CK3200LS with full-colour screen instead.
Updated version brilliant! November 7, 2007 J. Baldock 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
When I first installed the Parrot MK6100 the wireless control did not work after another faulty replacement and discussions with Parrot I was sent a newly updated system (software update I persume!) and once installed this works perfectly. Straight forward controls and very easy to use. Screen is easy to read although for personal preference an option for display colours would be better.
Only a couple of minor points (1) the connection blocks on the wiring loom fit into the original ones poorly and are therefore tempermental and needed securing with a cable tie but once locked together no problem, (2) the sticky pads to attach the display holder and wireless control are next to useless, try superglue!
Overall a great system which is very effective in use and I have no problem recomending it.
Failed to work properly September 24, 2007 Helpless (UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This unit when it came online with the ignition would answer the first call but then stop working. There is an apparent problem with the battery operated remote buttons to answer and end calls. The unit would accept calls by bluetooth, but the answer button would stubbornly refuse to 'answer' and the 'end call' button would not work. Only when the ignition was turned doff then on again would it reset, but only for the first call. Very unreliable, it defeated the object of a hands free kit when I had to use the phone to answer and end calls. I have now replaced it with the MK 3200LS, which is excellent. My advice, steer clear of MK 6100!
Not good March 3, 2009 C. O'Brien 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have installed two of these over the past year. One was a present for my brother and one was for myself. Neither copy gave great results. The unit my brother had, broke after a couple of months when the keys fell off the remote control. My own remained in one piece but suffered from intermittent connection problems which would require a lot of disconnecting and reconnecting to remedy. Overall the sound quality was very poor. While was was possible to hear the other person clearly through the in-car speakers, they quite often found the sound from my car to be very unclear, even after adjusting the microphone volume. Maybe poor sound quality is the norm with hands free kits but I expected better from Parrot. Also, given that I had problems with 2 separate units I am very unimpressed.
Be Careful! March 4, 2008 Mr. Anthony JONES (Mid-Wales) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought one of these as I wanted something that could stream audio as well as handle the phone.
It can do this, but it can ONLY be connected to your front two speakers.
I told the installation company (AVR Installations) that my car has a BOSE amplifier and 7 speakers and they said fine, don't worry, we've done loads.
What they didn't mention was that they couldn't connect the Parrot to the amp & just wired it directly to the two front speakers.
Sound quality is terrible and it isn't possible to listen to music without cloth ears. Spoken word stuff just about OK.
I would only recommend one of these if you have a pretty low-end stereo with only two front speakers. Not for anyone who likes to hear their music properly.
